Fishburn Park Handbook Fishburn Park Elementary School- Focus for Environmental Science is now accepting applications for students in grades K-5 for school year 2012-2013. Fishburn Park received the Competence to Excellence award for showing progress toward the goals of the Governor of Virginia and the State Board of Education and is a U.S Department of Education Green Schools Nominee. Fishburn Park offers students an excellent K-5 education with environmental literacy and awareness connections in all classes. The school is open by application to students living in any part of Roanoke City and transportation is provided. Applications for 2012-2013 are being accepted until May 4, 2012. Applications are being accepted for the Virginia Preschool Initiative program in Roanoke City Public Schools. Virginia Preschool Initiative classes serve qualified four year olds. Children must be age four by September 30, 2012. Eligibility and placement are based on the child's home address and identified needs. Applications are available in the school office or apply online at www.roanokepreschool.org. Call 853-2957 for additional information.
